Erin Bumgarner Barr has been a prosecutor for over ten years.  Her career started in the Chesterfield County Commonwealth Attorney’s Office where she was promoted to Deputy in 2018.   Most of her career has been spent prosecuting cases that originate out of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court, and that passion led her in May 2020 to the Colonial Heights Commonwealth Attorney’s Office. She recently was elected and sworn into the office of Chesterfield County Commonwealths Attorney, 2024. She is originally from Amherst, Virginia, attended Randolph-Macon College in Ashland, Virginia, and then completed her law degree at the University of Richmond.  She now lives in Chesterfield County with her family enjoying her career, horseback riding, and her son’s little league games.
